New Opening Milano Boutique

Molteni&C inaugurates its Boutique on the corner of Via Solferino and Via Pontaccio: a new look for this historic showroom, expanded and renovated thanks to a project by the architect and creative director, Vincent Van Duysen. The large windows of the boutique frame some of the brand’s items, introducing guests to the material itinerary experienced within. The interior features the light tones of the sunrise oak covering the walls and the travertine chosen for the flooring. It is an elegant, domestic environment offering a series of suggestive settings. Offering an experience in pure Molteni&C style, it showcases some of the brand’s most recent collections and iconic pieces created through collaboration with great designers and international architecture firms.

The 2023 collection furnishes the space, creating a living area where the yellow of the Porta Volta chairs, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, an internationally renowned architecture firm and long-time partner of the Molteni Group, stands out amid a palette of neutral tones.

The piping on Augusto, the sofa designed by Van Duysen, creates a play of contrasts and defines the lines of the soft padded seats. The purity of the materials comes across in the marble top on Regent, the coffee table designed for the Outdoor collection and here presented in its indoor version. The Paula armchair and Mateo table, displayed in the wood version, are both designed by Van Duysen.

Featuring an elegant marble worktop, the Intersection kitchen carries the mark of Dada Engineered, and is the embodiment of the company’s distinctiveness and specialisation in kitchens.

In the showcase, an elegant Gliss Master composition. This wardrobe system, the star of the Molteni&C bedroom collection, is accompanied by the iconic D.153.1, the armchair designed by Gio Ponti in 1953 that forms part of the furnishings in his private home in Via Dezza in Milan. The Blevio table by Ignazio Gardella is also part of the Heritage collection. Rounding out the indoor furniture are some of the most iconic items from past collections, such as the Hector bookshelf by Van Duysen and the Arc table by Foster + Partners.

The first Molteni&C|Outdoor collection, coordinated by the company’s creative director and interpreted by some of the most important contemporary designers, is also prominent. The Landmark collection, attesting to Italian savoir-faire, combines tradition, artisanship, and timeless style through the use of different advanced woodworking techniques, an integral part of the Molteni&C DNA. The focus of the collection is the classic Palinfrasca sofa by Luca Meda. Originally designed in 1994 and reinterpreted by Vincent Van Duysen, Palinfrasca enriches the Molteni&C Boutique in Brera, paying homage to one of Molteni&C’s most iconic historic projects. Its pattern is inspired by the combination of rods and branches in wickerwork, recalling the natural ease of Mediterranean style.

The Regent coffee tables, also designed by the creative director, represent the Timeout collection. This is inspired by the essential forms of modern architecture, in which the apparently cold feeling of metal is mitigated by slender lines.
The Pannacotta coffee table by Ron Gilad, reinterpreted for its Outdoor version, is accompanied by one of the collection’s icons: the D.150.5 chaise longue by Gio Ponti, originally designed in 1952 for the outdoor areas on the Andrea Doria cruise ship.

The result is a high-impact setting that showcases the Molteni&C collections in the most flattering way, creating a warm, welcoming, experiential showroom.
